Scandinavian-Swedish Inspiration

Yesterday, I met with a new client in her adorable older home. It sits on top of a hill basking in the most beautiful light. The home was built in 1940's by gentleman from France. It has wonderful bones with wide floorboard, vaulted ceilings, and original shiplap.  We're going for a Scandinavian-Swedish inspiration. Some call it Nordic design.

Scandinavian design is know for form, function, and pared down craftsmanship. The color pallet is a wintry mix of whites, light greys, blush, icy blues.  Geometric shapes play off natural wood elements. The wood tones are most often white washed or greyed. Light is an important element.  Here is some eye candy to inspire.
